Interested in splitting training costs?

Going someplace? Or want to go someplace? Looking for someone to go along with you or share costs? Need to do some instrument training? This is the spot to join up with other pilots!

Interested in splitting training costs?

Hi there,

I am a 26 yr old grad student in Monterey, and I am interested in getting back into flying. I have my private and instrument, with about 200 hurs. I would like to start working on commercial, most of which would be getting more flying time (50 more hours) and gaining proficiency. I've only flown high-wing planes, though I would be interested in learning low-wings. I am not a member of the flying club yet, but am exploring joining. Please contact me if interersted, and we can talk more about this.

Thanks,

Mike

Hi Mike! You came to the right place to meet your goals of building time. Being a flying club it's often pretty easy to meet other pilots with similar or related goals and build time. You could arrange for trips were you could fly out and someone else fly back so you get experience with destinations further away for half the price, etc. Plus you might be able to fly under the hood or as saftey pilot with another club member and you could both be logging time at the same time.

You just missed our BBQ and pumpkin dropping contest last weekend that would have been a great time to meet people, but I'd still encourage you to keep an eye out for our schedule of events and classes, come meet and network with people, then get flying! :-)

The forum isn't the most popular spot, but hopefully someone else might spot your note and be interested. I'm working on my instrument and might be interested in having you be a saftey pilot once you were a member and checked out in N56966 or N717SP (the Cherokee 140 and Cessna 172SP respectively)

Looking for a commercial...

Well, my plane is going into Annual in about 3 weeks. Once its out, we might be able to arrange something if you need a HP/Complex plane to do your training in. I'd have to figure out what the hourly cost actually is and if I can put you on the insurance (you might need 5 hours of checkout in make/model before taking off on your own) but it definitely would give you a platform to get the commercial in...

Oh yes, its a Beech Bonanza (1953 C35) parked next to the fence near Watsonville aviation. Its also going in for some avionics upgrades in the near future as well
